Session Year: 2025-2026
President Liz Carlino- Resumed in-person Staff Council lunch meetings
- Partnered with FSAP to provide meal vouchers to employees experienceing financial hardship
- Collaborated with the Hardship Fund Coordinator to streamline the application process
- Hosted Staff Fest events for night-shift employees.
- Facilitated Board of Trustees listening sessions during the presidential search process
- Advocated for reduced parking rates for employees earning less than $50,000 annually
- Promoted the Emory Community Fridge through enterprise-wide team-building and volunteer sandwich-making events
- Hosted a meet-and-greet with Interim President Justice Sears.
- Strengthened working relationship with Emory Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kevin Moody, who serves as executive sponsor. This partnership elevated the Council's ability to advocate for the staff.

President April C. Edwards- Secured full funding for the Community Fridge Program
- Launched a quarterly Staff Council newsletter
- Hosted a Staff Resources Fair to connect employees with campus services
- Updated the Open Expression Policy
- Organized staff engagement events in April and June
- Coordinated sandwich-making initiatives that produced more than 150 sandwiches for community support efforts
- Continued the annual Staff Council contribution to the Emory Veterans Day Ceremony
Ongoing Initiatives
- Advocating for a parking subsidy program for employees.
- Supporting efforts to establish a second Community Fridge location under the leadership of President-Elect Liz Carlino.
Session Year: 2023-2024
President Shervon Lewis- Established the Community Fridge Program
- Hosted a Holiday Swap that encouraged employees to exchange gently used items and support Lost-N-Found Youth, an organization serving LGBTQ+ young adults experiencing homelessness in Atlanta.
- Led a campus-wide food drive to collect canned and shelf-stable items for the Community Fridge
- Partnered with the Office of Open Expression to support constructive dialogue during campus demonstrations.
- Led the approval of a unanimous voting initiative to redistribute surplus food through the Community Fridge.
Session Year: 2022-2023
President Katrina Marie Shafer- Transitioned Staff Council monthly meetings to an in-person format.
- Led the successful rebranding of the Employee Council to Staff Council, approved unanimously and implemented in May 2023.
- Coordinated volunteer recruitment efforts in support of the Safety Fair on October 6, 2022.
- Hosted a Coffee and Conversation event with President Gregory L. Fenves at Convocation Hall on October 31, 2022.
Session Year: 2021-2022
President Dawn Francis-Chewning- Hosted a Leadership Social and Town Hall attended by 229 participants, including 9 of 14 former Senate Presidents.
- Raised $34,500 for the Staff Hardship Fund, supporting 15 approved employee assistance applications.
- Established a Microsoft Teams site for the Executive Committee in June 2022.
- Led enhancements to the Staff Council website through the Cascade CMS, launched in June 2022
